Villa Alberto, in the village of Pietrafitta, is in the south-east corner of Lazio, close to Abruzzo, Molise and Campania. Tranquil and off the beaten track, it stands in an elevated position in its own grounds of 1 acre, with fruit trees, flowering shrubs and even a banana plant. Villa Alberto has balconies on three sides with splendid views of towering mountains, fields and valleys. It has a comfortable sitting room with an open fire, a fully equipped kitchen, dining table, three spacious double bedrooms, two shower rooms and a bathroom. There is a lovely shady veranda at the front of the house – perfect for alfresco dining or relaxing.
A few minutes’ drive away there is a good supermarket and shops. A few minutes more there are several towns with a wide range of facilities.
Rome’s airports are under 2 hours away by car and Naples Airport is approx 1.5 hours. Trains are available from Rome to Cassino, 20 min away.
As all the guest accommodation is on one level, this villa is comfortable for the infirm. Note, however, that there are ten steps up to the guest floor.
The garden is fenced all round, providing peace of mind for those with small children.
